Japanese frozen food products have been tainted with the pesticide, malathion

There have been several reports in the news regarding Japanese frozen food products that have been tainted with the pesticide, malathion.

1. The risk to the American community is extremely low.
 
2. All products from the company, Aqulifoods/Maruha Nichiro, were removed from the shelves in all of Japan in December. Misawa’s Public Health Flight has confirmed this.
 
3. None of these products are stocked at base Commissaries. Misawa’s Public Health Flight has confirmed this.
 
Consumers are advised not to buy any frozen products from Aqlifoods/Maruha Nichiro, specifically frozen pizzas, chicken nuggets, and croquettes. Consumers are also advised to discard any of these frozen food products that they may currently have. If there are any questions, please contact the Public Health Flight at 226-6116.
