Hey! Get Outside the Gate!
I’m Hisano Yamazaki with What’s Happening Outside the Gate.
Have you ever heard of “The Tale of Two Stars,” the Altair and the Vega? They’re only allowed to meet once a year over the Milky Way on the night of July 7, or “Tanabata.” Hiratsuka City in Kanagawa Prefecture holds one of the three greatest festivals in Japan, July 5 through the 7th. Tokyo’s Fussa City celebrates one of the biggest ones in Kanto, Aug. 8 through the 11th.
Japanese have enjoyed owning and seeing colorful goldfish for over 260 years, and now witness a new art style that combines goldfish and modern stage effects at the Art Aquarium Exhibition in Tokyo, July 13 through Sept. 23. See 5,000 goldfish beautifully displayed in amazingly illuminated darkened water tanks.
