NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka Fuel Department personnel hosted Yokosuka Middle School students during a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) event held aboard Defense Fuel Support Point (DFSP) Hakozaki on the island of Azuma located within Tokyo Bay Apr. 3. The Navy's STEM program encourages students to discover academic pursuits and career opportunities in the science and technology fields and allows students to explore the latest STEM technologies used in the Navy.

The fuel department chemists and technicians demonstrated to the students how the various laboratory equipment operates and how it helps support the NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka mission of supporting the fleet’s fuel needs.

American Forces Network (AFN) was on hand to highlight and record the day’s events for the students, teachers, Navy and larger DoD audience who will be watching their news coverage worldwide.
