American Education Week will be observed at Camp Zama Nov. 18-22.

It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate highter education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every Camp Zama Community Member receives quality education assistance.

The events begin on Nov. 20 with an opening statement from the Education Services Officer in front of the Education Center and library at 11:30 a.m., followed by a cookout and a cake cutting ceremony. USARJ band will be providing musical entertainment throughout the cookout, and there will be fun games where you can win prizes!

There are many fun events to enjoy and helpful information to gain during the Education Week!

Armywide Kick-off: Camp Zama Army Education Center will celebrate excellence in education by hosting kick-off events and activities.

12p.m. Cook-Out with USARJ Band

Highlights of the day:

  • Trivia, Raffle, Scavenger Hunt, Games, Cake and more
  • Education Center and Library Open House  
  • Unofficial Evaluations by the UMUC Academic Advisor
  • UMUC and CTC Free Application Day


9 –10 a.m. GoArmyEd Workshop, Army Learning Center.
10 – 11a.m. VA Education Briefing.  
11a.m. – 12 p.m. – Scholarships Opportunities


9:30 – 10 a.m. CTC, UMUC, and University of Phoenix Programs Overview.
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Benefits of taking CLEP/DSST/PearsonVue Exams.
11a.m. – 12 p.m. “Every Career Needs a Road Map” by University of Phoenix.
