MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 35th Security Forces Squadron recently hosted various events, including an Open House, K-9 demonstration, weapons display, drunken goggles experience and ruck march, in commemoration of National Police Week at Misawa Air Base, Japan. They partnered with security members from the Japan Self-Defense Forces and local community police officers throughout the week's events. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.
